Who would you rather have making your health care decisions?

Q. a government bureaucrat who is accountable to the electorate, or an insurance company staff member who is accountable to the shareholders?

A. I'm sure not dumb enough to want my health care choices to be made by someone who has a profit motive in mind.

@Viva: The staffer in the insurance company who you refer to is "good at his job" when he denies you coverage.

Why are many Mexicans crying about Arizona, California, Texas and New Mexico being apart of Mexico?
Q. We bought those states off the Mexicans in the 1800s. Your government sold your people out not us. STOP WHINING! VIVA SB 1070!

Arizona law is constitutional as it is just and humane.

It will help Mexico in the long run by cleaning up their government. If only Mexicans protested there like they do here in the USA.

A. Speaking of illegal....since the can't get a driver license because their illegal, they drive without one. Again breaking the law. Since they can't get a drivers license the don't have auto insurance. Again breaking the law. I pity the person who gets hit by one of the people because since they don't have insurance, YOUR ON YOUR OWN. No compensation for you. The worst that happens to them is the get sent back south of the boarder.

And there are people on Y/A answers that DEFEND these criminals. Amazing....truly amazing.

I have 2 insurances, how does it work ?
Q. I carry my own insurance throw my job. My dad recently picked me back up under his because I am under 26 and his is better. I already dropped mine but it doesnt take effect till January so for now I hold two insurances. I know how it works when I go to the doctors. When I get a prescription filled is it only submitted under my insurance or does it get submitted under mine then the short fall is submitted to my dads. Please help, I have some things I need filled !

A. You would submit it under the best insurance of the two. It isn't that two policies will take up the 'slack' or cost the other doesn't cover.

Be nice to work that way, but it doesn't.

There is a primary insurance and secondary. Primary covers,.. if primary refuses to pay then the secondary (has to be selected before hand) will then be responsible to pay.

So look at the plans, find which gives the most discount on the drugs/medication with best copay -- and use it. The pharmacy can tell you, they can try them both.

Insurance plans work together if they are of different 'types' -- ie: Major medical, with a hospital plan, a drug coverage plan etc.

Example.. An individual or family Bluecross plan with say a Viva medical plan will just work as aforementioned, primary then secondary if there is refusal.

Insurances are always tricky , and as we don't know your policy companies, your exact coverage, your benefits and so on -- it is really impossible to say for sure -- but look at the benefits of each online (or with the booklets you have) -- you should know these terms already, but many people don't bother with such things ;) Then file the medication under the policy that will save you the most money.

IE: My bluecross blueshield individual plan is $160 a month at my age,.. and doctor (non specialist copay) is $35.. flat rate.

At the pharmacy it is quite cheap on generic copays.

Just to go on further.. deductibles are a general waste of time unless you are at doctors every other week -- They serve their purpose for major procedures, tests (IE: MRI's, etc) -- and most importantly if you end up in the hospital.

I landed in the hospital for acute nephritis a few years ago with an idiopathic cause, near death,.. and the bill ended up being $220,000 -- I ended up paying $1000 and that was that. Had I not had insurance, you can imagine the debt now.

But I digress.

Good luck, and take care,

Why does the Liberal-minded Hussein Obama insist on forcing telling me any my family what to do?
Q. This war-mongering, socialist-pig is now trying to socialize (sorry if its not a word) Health Care, and force ME AND MY FAMILY to pay money to these unfortunate folks who don't have health insurance. I also HIGHLY disagree with this man's decisions to expand the two wars we are fighting. Diplomacy before blood. VIVA LA FRANCE.
