Q. Life insurance companies ask tons of questions. Can they deny you because you have a felony on your record? If you are untruthful on an application can your benefits be denied when payment is due? If you are denied life insurance because of a criminal record what is your recourse?
A. Yes, they can deny you for that, they aren't required to EVER issue a life insurance policy. They either offer or deny. They don't even have to tell you why they deny you, in some cases.
If you lie on the application, when payout time comes, they don't have to pay.
There is no recourse - you have no "right" to purchase life insurance. You can just keep shopping around.

How do I know the date when my G driver's licence was issued?
Q. Car insurance companies ask this question whenever I am trying to get a quote and this date isn't written on the card. My G driver's licence is issued in London, Ontario, Canada.
A. Do you know when it expires? It should have that date on it somewhere....if it expires in 2014 and it was issued for 4 years then it would be the date it expires - 4 years...
Is it legal for an insurance company to ask to see the interior of your house?
Q. I am a very private person, and would prefer not to show it. Is it legal for them to make that request? My experience with insurance companies lately is just a lot of hassle, and I would like to avoid that.
No insurance company had ever asked before. Thanks for any serious responses.

A. Your questions is "is it legal". The answer is "YES". Insurance companies can ask to see anything they are going to insure.
Some policies will require they check your credit, talk to your boss, even interview friends and family over the phone.
Remember, just because it is legal for them to ask, does not mean you must show them! If you don't want them in there, you don't need to let them in. If this is for new insurance, they likely want to see if you have bad wiring, missing hand-rails, exposed asbestos or a tree growing through your living room floor.
Some new policies get a drive by inspection, others get the third degree. If this is for new insurance, you can just get a different company to underwrite that will not inspect inside the house. If this is for existing insurance, and they suddenly want in, ask them why first.
You may be able to negotiate a compromise, such as sending them photographs of everything rather than letting them inside.
The only way they can enter is with a court order if you don't want them to come in, but it is legal for them to ask. If they put it in a policy that you sign, and only then, it may be legal for them to insist if you want to put in a future claim.

Health insurance companies in Florida that only ask for 5 years of information?
Q. I was wondering if there are any health insurance companies that only ask for medical information in the past 5 years. I know the majority of the companies ask for 10 years of medical history. But, I have also heard there are a few that only require information for 5 years on the application. Any help would be appreciated.
A. Call and talk to a agent for info. Some companies will have you list every doctor seen with the address, phone, fax etc. So even if you saw 1 doctor only 1 time, may forget or have to dig thu your records for the name of the doctor and info.
But as a general rule, all companies will have a list of 6 questions that specifically ask you by a yes/no answer if you have been treated or diagnosed with heart, circulatory, lungs, diabetes etc in the last 5 to 10 years, and if so, then you would have to list the doctor.
The reason for the agent, is that they can ask you questions that may or may not affect you finding health insurance period. They will know which companies are best or if there is a problem you will know upfront and they can give you other options.
good luck
