What should i do about this fender bender i got into recently. This is my first accident?

Q. so i got into a fender bender. A car hit me from behind while i was at a yield sign and bent my bumper. No police were called yet we exchanged information..insurance, phone number, and wrote license plates number. I was also out of state when this accident happened. Will i regret not calling the police because it can be an easier situaion for the other person to get out of paying because i live in another state?

A. Yes you should have called the police, as you will probably find out.

What do you need in order to live on your own?
Q. Like car insurance, health insurance, phone, etc. What are all of the necessary things you need in order to live alone, in a apartment.
I think having a stable job is assumed :p

A. Well the main things are electricity ( if you have to pay the bill and it is not included in the rent)
and heat and or air conditioning depending on where you live heating is very important and expensive! Many rentals up north make people pay there our heat bills now because of the price
Then cable or Satellite ,phone and health insurance car insurance and rental insurance is good to have although not required by most landlords..

Are there any programs to help buy a laptop that is required for AP classes?
Q. My daughter is attending a junior college in Mississippi on a soccer scholarship and has a couple of AP classes that require a laptop. (She wants to be an x-ray tech at a children's hospital.) Are there any programs or grants that she can apply for to help her with the expense? She works as a waitress to pay for her car, insurance, phone and incidentals and we do not have the resources to help her at this time. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

A. Rent/Lease one.......that's what I did. Rent-a-center.

How can I get a cell phone that will work on the cruise ship?
Q. I am looking for a cell phone that will work on the cruise ship and in Panama, Costa Rica, Colombia, Grand Cayman, and Aruba. The company that my travel agent suggested to me was good but no insurance on phone loss or damage and the penalty is $1,500. Do you know of a good company? Or should I just call from each island from a pay phone and calling card?

A. While out to sea there are no "cell" phones that will work since you are going to be too far from a tower. They do make satellite phones but they can cost upward of $5.00 per minute. IMARSAT is a company that makes such phones. As for a phone that you can use while in port - AT&T makes a "world" phone and if you pay for the International Plan, calling from overseas isn't too bad but will still be expensive compared to public phone and calling cards. I use Magic Jack. You can buy it at lots of commercial retail outlets or from MagicJack.com. Very cheap and all you need is your laptop and a WiFi connection. Another option is the Vonage Ap for your iPhone which also only needs a wifi connection (which you can often get on cruise ships) and will be able to make calls as if you were home.
