How much did u pay for liberty travel insurance for a cruise and or flight?

Q. I am going on a 7 day cruise and the Liberty Travel agent wants to charge $99 per person for the Royal Caribbean cruise, and it may cover airfare if we arrange airfare through them. Is that rate worth it?
Is it possible to get travel insurance elsewhere, even though I still booked the cruise through liberty travel? Thanks

A. Yes, I took a Royal Caribbean cruise, and I chose to take out insurance with AAA. It was considerably cheaper. I'm not sure whether you have to be a member. But the answer to your question is that you can take out insurance with any company that has travel insurance.

Where should a non-resident living in the US buy international travel insurance?
Q. I am a foreigner living in the US, so I could not buy any travel insurance that requires US residency. This summer, I will be traveling back to my home country on a business trip. I am for looking for a type of insurance that could cover my time both in my home country and during my round trip flight. Thank you very much!

A. Squaremouth specializes in health insurance for foreigners living or working in the US.

You can compare polices from all the top providers and get immediate cover without underwriting questions.

How does Travel Insurance work with Lost/stolen luggage?must you have receipts for everything in bag?
Q. Ok Im considering buying travel insurance, but Im just wondering how does it work with Lost/stolen baggage...for example..Youre in a taxi and the taxi takes off with your baggage..In order to get reimbursed for what you lost must you have receipts of everything in that bag?can you get up to a certain amount without receipts?
and once you make a claim how long does it take for you to get reimbursed?does it happen while youre still on vacation?
Thanks

A. Usually these types of policies reimburse on non specific items based on a capped rate. You have to read the policy carefully to determine coverage. (you ask a good question though)

I usually use TravelEx. They have been great to me in the past when I have needed to file a claim. Here is a link for a free quote.

Where can I find long term travel insurance?
Q. I am moving to Australia for a year next month. I keep finding long term travel insurance sites but they are mostly from the UK. They have really fair prices and it's quite discouraging seeing the difference compared to American prices. Any suggestions?
