How big of an impact do small businesses have on Oklahoma's economy?

Q. I'm wondering how much small businesses help Oklahoma's economy? If someone could send me a link with the answer to my question, that would be awesome. Thanks! God Bless.

GOD BLESS YOU TOO!

What is the one question you have about how to start a small business?
Q. I am putting together a report for those who want to start a small business from home. As a small business coach, most of my clients already have small home based businesses and I have answers from them about what stopped them from starting earlier.

What I want to know: Specifically, what is it you want to know. What's the one thing that is keeping you from starting your small home based business (except an idea or money)? Internet based or not.

Thanks for your help.

A. Vantastic why to pique interest. I love it and will use it starting tomorrow.

I keep hearing people in politics and in economics talk about helping small businesses create jobs I understan?
Q. I keep hearing people in politics and in economics talk about helping small businesses create jobs I understand why this is important but my question is how does big businesses create jobs if only small businesses is helped ? Does big businesses not need tax cuts to create jobs ? Please don't post answers like big businesses just ships jobs overseas because big businesses has created jobs for americans in the past. Also how does big businesses get consumer spending if only small businesses is helped ?

A. The politicians talk about helping small businesses, because some people would find it unpalatable to help large businesses for some reason. Frankly, I don't care who gives me my job as long as they pay me, and I don't care who provides the goods and services I want as long as they are a good value.

But the key to the economy that no politician wants to address is creating the right environment for ALL businesses to thrive. That means lower taxes, but lower regulation is even more important.

Large businesses actually lobby for regulation, because it restricts competition. Large businesses can absorb the cost of compliance, whereas small businesses cannot. Small businesses are driven from the marketplace by regulations, and then the government that made the small business uncompetitive in the first place rails about how they need to help small businesses. It's just political theater.

Computer technicians: how long does your average repair take?
Q. I'm thinking about starting a small computer repair business, servicing small business and residential customers. I understand that this is a difficult question to answer, as some repairs take a few days and others take a few minutes. However, if you were to look at all the repairs in a given month and average the mean time to fix, what are we talking?

A. As an overall average I guess I would say an hour. A lot of problems are immediately apparent and easily fixed and of course upgrades take next to no time. Offset those against the harder to remove viruses or annoying networking issues and I reckon it averages an hour.
