Does my pregnancy Medicaid cover my newborns hospital bill?

Q. I live in Texas. So far Medicaid has covered everything. I was told that my Medicaid would cover my baby up to three months after his birth. He was born about a week ago (7-12-11)
He was born with spina bifida so he had to go to cooks children hospital.

I received a bill in the mail and idk how to pay for it. Shouldn't my Medicaid cover it?
On the back of the bill there is an insurance information section. Should I fill it out with my Medicaid info and send it back?

A. Yes. They cover all of the babies bills. After they are born, they will be put on their own medicaid ( if they qualify, if not it will be CHIP) Do not pay for it, put the medicaid info on it and send it back.

Does Medicaid Cover Abortions and will it show up?
Q. I am pregnant and I want to know whether Medicaid will cover my abortion. If Medicaid covers it, would it show up anywhere for my parents to see it? In the mail or anything else. I live in NYC and am 20 years old. Thanks for your help.

A. Medicaid Coverage of Abortion and Other Reproductive Health Services

Medicaid is a state-federal partnership that pays for health care services to certain low-income individuals, including children, the elderly and people with disabilities. Each state administers its Medicaid program within the guidance of federal law and regulations. States and the federal government share the cost of the program. Beneficiaries must meet various restrictions, such as income or medical need, and Medicaid programs and eligibility varies from state to state.

Access to abortion services can be especially problematic for women who are dependent upon Medicaid. The Hyde Amendment, enacted in 1976, denies federal Medicaid coverage of abortions except in the cases of rape, incest, or life endangerment.

! However, because each state runs its own Medicaid program, some states use state-only funds to cover abortions under a wider range of circumstances. Coverage in these state programs varies based on the state and also on whether the woman is a citizen or a qualified or unqualified immigrant. The following chart gives a summary of all Medicaid abortion benefits available in each state.

According to what I just found the state of New York will cover it on their Medicaid program. Hippa Act keeps your medical records confidential, even if it didn't most clinic will ask you if you can mail or not. Also on the phone they will only speak to you; at Planned Parenthood you had a password to ensure they were speaking to you and no one else. Tell your counselor at the clinic that hey cannot send you mail or phone you, they will write it into your chart. Do what you think is right for you. Email me if you need to talk or have any more questions.

Edit: I guess some people can't handle me passing along some info. Oh, well; they will just have to deal with it.

Will pregnancy Medicaid cover dental work in Indiana?
Q. If I have teeth that need to be pulled that were messed up because of my pregnancy, will pregnancy Medicaid cover it?

A. You best call the number on the back of your insurance card to see what specifically they will cover for you. But I don't see why they wouldn't. But it has to be medically necessary though.

Will Medicaid cover a visit to a pediatric dentist?
Q. My daughter's first two teeth just appeared few days ago. I figured it's time to look into a dentist for her. Does anyone know if Medicaid cover it? We're in NY.
Thanks!

A. Yes, our plan does, but only until they are a certain age then you have to switch to a regular dentist... I don'y know the details yet because my son doesn't have any teeth yet...
