Does my pregnancy Medicaid cover my newborns hospital bill?

Q. I live in Texas. So far Medicaid has covered everything. I was told that my Medicaid would cover my baby up to three months after his birth. He was born about a week ago (7-12-11)
He was born with spina bifida so he had to go to cooks children hospital.

I received a bill in the mail and idk how to pay for it. Shouldn't my Medicaid cover it?
On the back of the bill there is an insurance information section. Should I fill it out with my Medicaid info and send it back?

A. Yes. They cover all of the babies bills. After they are born, they will be put on their own medicaid ( if they qualify, if not it will be CHIP) Do not pay for it, put the medicaid info on it and send it back.

Will Medicaid cover a visit to a pediatric dentist?
Q. My daughter's first two teeth just appeared few days ago. I figured it's time to look into a dentist for her. Does anyone know if Medicaid cover it? We're in NY.
Thanks!

A. Yes, our plan does, but only until they are a certain age then you have to switch to a regular dentist... I don'y know the details yet because my son doesn't have any teeth yet...

Does Medicaid cover getting your tubes tied?
Q. I want to get my tubes tied as I have 4 kids. Will Medicaid cover this. Or what about a vasectomy for my husband? We live in Michigan if that makes a difference.

A. This is just personal experience, but I suggest you have your tubes tied vs a vasectomy for your husband. My ex-husband and I decided not to have more children and we were deciding if I had it or he. I chose to have and am glad I did, since we subsequently got divorced and the 1st thing I thought was, thank god, I had my tubes tied, or otherwise may have found myself pregnant again if I was "unlucky"

With you having 4 kids already, you maybe prone to be more fertile and most other birth control methods may have failed you in the past.

Granted, many people get upset about people being on Medicaid, since most likely you are also on food stamps and other assistance, so we as taxpayers are paying for your care and help. But, many times, this happens through no fault of your own, so hopefully Medicaid will pay for it, since the end result, taxpayers pay less in the end.

If;;;;Medicaid does not pay, then go to a plan parenthood clinic, since most only charge based on income, and most likely very little in your case.

good luck

Does Medicaid cover colored contact lenses in Michigan?
Q. I really don't like wearing glasses. But my sight is really bad. I mean like so bad, that without my glasses, I can't see anything clearly unless it's like eleven inches away from my face. So I asked my mom if I could get contacts, she said I could if my medicaid covered it. And my eyes are brown, but my friends say I'd look better with green eyes. So does medicaid cover colored contacts? Or non-colored contacts?

A. Why would my tax dollars pay for your lenses for cosmetic reasons? Are you nuts? They will probably cover regular old contact lenses.

Tell your mom to stop milking the government.
